The Knowledge Schools Trust is looking for committed individuals to join the Local Government Board for Dovery Academy  and Edlesborough Primary Academy. We are looking for individuals with a strong background in education to support the Schools in reviewing and tracking implementation and the impact of safeguarding, policies, curricula, School improvement Plans, pupil attainment and progress, pastoral care, staff development and wellbeing.

Your opportunity

The joint Local Governing Board for Dovery Academy and  Edlesborough Primary Academy are looking for two new governors to join the committed team supporting our two schools. Governors are responsible for ensuring the strategic direction of the school, its performance and use of resources to support learning. They help to ensure that our local school provides the best possible education for all children in its care.

The Local Governing Board meets 5 times each academic year in the evenings with most meetings using remote access (we meet face to face at least once a year). Governors also visit the schools a few times each year during the school day depending on the their links to the school.

Governors do not need to have previous experience to tackle the responsibilities required. We are particularly interested in recruiting someone with educational background so would welcome an application from someone active in the education of primary school children. Advice and training are available to help new governors settle in. The Local Governing Board is looking for members of the local community with some daytime time availability, interest and enthusiasm to fulfil the roles.

If you are available and interested in joining our successful team or would like to know more about the role, please contact us.
